Droidcon & JSFoo Hackday

JSFoo is on Sep 20 & 21.  Droidcon is on Nov 28, 29, 30.

Two awesome conferences that bring together JS & Android developers. Not surprisingly, there's a lot in common. And this hackday brings the two incredibly talented  communities together for a day of experimentation, creativity, and lots of fun.

In an mobile first world, it's all about building great mobile websites & apps. But building Mobile Sites & Apps is bloody hard. The designers need to deal with touch, a billion different small screen sizes and all the while balancing the functional complexity of a full desktop app/service on a tiny device. The developers need to deal with performance, animation smoothness, OS fragmentation and memory/CPU limits. The managers have to make sure the designers and developers don't kill each other.

The hackday is going to try and short-circuit the whole problem by sticking everyone in the same pot and stirring. This is how we hope it'll go:

• Get several smart people in a room
• Throw ideas up and see what sticks
• Collaborate and create random teams
• Make something unexpected and very cool in a ludicrously short span of time
• Demo at DroidCon 2013 in front of an adoring audience
• Make new friends
• Drink lots of Red Bull and coffee

Expect to see nodejs wizards brewing APIs off government sites. Crappy sites being reworked with responsive design for various mobile devices. And apps being built that provide a seamless experience. And if the weather is great, maybe even an evening BBQ.
