Droidcon hacknight Chennai

Hey there Droid devs, HasGeek is here in Chennai! And we do not come empty handed. Are you a passionate Android programmer with that idea burning in your mind for an ultra cool app? Hunting around on how to go on about implementing it but just haven't found the missing link? Or just looking for a gathering of hackers as enthusiastic as you?

Well, we give you the avenue to meet fellow like-minded developers as well as a cool and focused environment to sit, learn and develop your app overnight. We will have experienced practitioners as mentors in order to guide you throughout the night.

Have a Droid idea of concept on one of the below that you want to implement? Wait no further! Come join us and give shape to your thought.

• Social Impact - Crowd sourcing - apps that crowd source data collection(e.g traffic) 
• Analytics on Android: can be  app usage analytics, or taking open datasets and building analytics, etc.
• P2P Networking on Android: Building NFC apps, dropbox-like functionality, social sharing, LAN party apps, GCM for P2P? etc
• Mobile Device Management: Tools to manage mobile devices such as restricting apps that can be used, remote control and analytics, remote uninstall or purge data for an app, etc.

As much fun as it is to finish your app, we are taking it one more level up with the "app demo" track at Droidcon India 2013. Propose your finished projects under "app demos" in the Droidcon India 2013 funnel and you might get the chance to demo your app in front of an amazing audience at the mega event!

What is a hacknight?

Hacknight is a space where you can work on your pet project, try a new idea or test the waters of new tools, technologies and languages. At hacknights, you meet new people, make friends and network. Overall, a hacknight is an amazing, hands-on learning experience.

HasGeek's hacknights provide developers the opportunity to work in an easy, relaxed, peer-to-peer format, over a period of 12-20 hours.

Next Steps

• Register for the hacknight. You will receive a confirmation from us.
• Propose a project idea, and/or join a team.
• Comment on other projects.
• Come to the hacknight with your ideas and gear!
• Write awesome code!

Requirements:

• Bring your own laptop with Android SDK or Phone gap and other libraries installed.
• In case you want a machine to work, write to kracekumar@hasgeek.com and bring the required libraries in a pen drive.
• We will be bringing test device like Phone, Tablet. You can use them to test the apps.

Food, beverages and facilities will be provided to all participants during the hacknight.
