Business of API hackathon

Bessemer Venture Partners in partnership with LinkedIn, Twilio and SendGrid announces the first edition of its ‘Business of API’ hackathon. The hackathon will be held in  Bangalore on February 8-10, 2013.

 Over the last couple of years, we have witnessed a slew of products and startups being built on top of other platforms. We are bringing in three such globally successful platforms to India for the first time to engage with Indian developers/hackers and entrepreneurs. Our partner companies have well established developer evangelist teams and have organized and participated in many successful hackathons worldwide. Key executives and developer evangelists from these companies will be in attendance.

 What to expect?

The ‘Business of API’ hackathon will give you a great opportunity to work on some of the best technologies, APIs and platforms preferred by hackers / developers world over. For the first time, you can get hands-on guidance from LinkedIn, Twilio and SendGrid executives. It is a unique opportunity to meet and work with like-minded hackers. In addition, there are great prizes on offer.

 Over the next few weeks, we will help you familiarize yourselves with the APIs, technologies that our partner companies have to offer. To help facilitate this, we will collate all the technical resources that you need to get started. Wealso have Google hangoutsand webinars planned with the developer teams from the respective partner companies.

Judging Criteria:

1. Technology (Engineering skill demonstrated and the quality code) 
2. Design (Attention to aesthetics, interaction and user interface) 
3. Value Proposition (What need is the hack solving. Meets a customer need and potential to be a business) 
4. Inspiration (How much we love and are excited about the idea)
